One To Listen Out For: Michael Paynter's 'Superhero' On Seven

Hailing from Melbourne, singer/songwriter Michael Paynter is one of SONY BMG's newest signings and is quickly gaining a reputation as one to watch out for in 2007. Currently working on his debut album set for release later this year, expect tongues to be wagging over the coming weeks when his track 'Superhero' is heard on Channel Seven's promotions for the upcoming new series 'Heroes'. A gifted musician who has been playing piano since he was 7, guitar since he was 10, drums since 15, Michael has just returned from three months in the UK and US, working with a stellar list of producers and writers of his new material, including Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, INXS), Lindy Robbins and Reed Vertelney (Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys) and Ricky Ross and Gary Clark (James Blunt, Natalie Imbruglia).

Armed with an exciting stash of songs that recall everyone from John Mayer to Sting, Michael is now back on terra firma eagerly readying his debut album, set for release later this year.

Until then though, you can get your first taste of what's in store when one of Michael's songs, 'Superhero', is used on the promotions for Channel Seven's upcoming new series 'Heroes', starting on Wednesday, January 31 at 8.30pm.
